I thought Bob's was pretty much dead! There was one in Simi bout 10 years ago, then it became a Coco's. The one in Glendale is barely hangin in there cause the food and service really isnt what I remember it being(IOW... it sucks). When was the last time anyone had a Big Boy burger?? Not much burger on that thing!

The last time I ate at Johnie's was about 15 years ago. The food was awful. Hoping Bob's can't do any worse.

The only problem I see is gangs, y'know, with the car hop service.

Armed security guards will be present I'd assume.

Sad to hear about the one in Glendale. It was my favorite one. The one in Toluca Lake blows, IMO. One of the best burgers I've had was a super Big Boy combo at the Glendale BBB.

my ex-roomate loves Bob's and got me hooked on the chili spaghetti. It's freakin great!! About twice a month we meet up at the Bob's in Hacienda Heights (?) It's off Brea Canyon from the eastbound 60 Fwy. He drives from Corona and I drive from Long Beach but it's worth it.

Been making the Bobs chilli spaghetti recipe at home for at least 20 years now, its just not the same unless you make the garlic breads on cheap burger buns!!!!!!!

I really wish this city would have been able to put a The Old Spaghetti Factory at the site where that damn Hometown Buffet is.

I grew up in Downey too. My local favs are (in no particular order):

1. Gloria's Cocina (Florence & Old River School Rd). ~ Mexican *link*

2. Marisa's (Paramount and Stewart & Grey Rd.) ~ more Mexican *link*

3. Pina's Pizza (Paramount & Firestone) ~ Pizza (their food is OK) *link*

4. Ceviche Del Rey (across the street from Gloria's) ~ Peruvian cuisine *link*

5. Stox ~ the chicken pies and Cobb Salad are great but the place is way overpriced *link*

6. Chris & Pitt's (you must know where this place is )~ those Baby Back Ribs .... OMG! *link*

They recently added a Bob's in Torrance and the place is always busy. They do a lot with the community, and like SloMo says the Chili Spaghetti is the bomb dizzle.

I am also partial to the Big Boy Combo as well

Thats pretty close to my house,and i drive by it everytime I go to SG to visit fam. That place has been a mess for years. I remember when they filmed commercials and music videos there,when I was little. It's good to hear that they're actually going to do something productive with that pile of rubble.

Bob's Big Boy is making a comeback I guess, I heard they're putting one in at the old Chevy's location in West Covina, in the malll parking lot on Vincent
