I was having a conversation with a friend about the Monopoly promotion at McDonalds and we were both noting that we had never known anyone to win anything better than a free sandwich or something of that ilk. Has anyone ever won anything worthwhile in any of the incarnations of this game? Or known someone that has?
I'd be curious to know

One thing I learned the hard way when I was introduced to Monopoly @ McDonalds as a kid was... there will always be missing pieces.
If you got Baltic, there never be a Mediterranean Ave. If you got Park Place, there will never be a Boardwalk.
4 different railroads, you'll only get pieces to 3 of them.
If I do go to McDonalds, I just hope for some free food that comes with the Monopoly pieces. Out of about 10 pieces, I actually won 1 free medium fries, 1 small mcflurry, 3 small coffee/soft drink, and 1 large beef sandwich (excludes angus)
So yeah, I'd say that's pretty good.

I collected all 4 RR pieces as a kid. I didn't know I had them until the game was over.
The way they do it is that they will give out millions of different pieces and then only a thousand of one of the pieces for every color is given out.
There is playatmcd.com that you can enter the codes from the pieces and get extra chances to win.
I actually won 200 dollars from there.
