Not the same as having an ono plate lunch in Hawaii at one of the original locations (wife and I went to the North Shore location by the Cultural Center)...Ahhh loco moco in the islands
Protein platter!! It's alot of meat. I use to eat there a lot. There are many locations towards east L.A. county. Usually the smaller order is enough to feel me up. Chicken Katsu or BBQ chicken is usually what I order. Certain locations do offer non regular menu items like special items. My cousin lives by the L&L by LAX and he orders some item that I have not seen at any other L&L.
L&L is okay when I really need a HBBQ fix. I prefer fire grilled HBBQ. My favorite place to get some is at the Upland Farmers Market - Brody's BBQ. I googled them and found a myspace link:
I usually get the BBQ chicken skinless #4 I believe. I have also had the Atkins platter which is also very good. I think it depends which one you go to quality wise. The one in Anaheim at Ball and Brookhurst is not that great. But the one in the LBC at Willow and the Blvd is much better. In Anaheim I much prefer "Ohana BBQ" at SCB Lincoln near the Rite Aid and the Hometown Buffet. I guess it depends which one you go to......
Theres a place in Lake Forest that has the Loco Moco as well....ot L&L but not too shabby. Next time Im in Hawaii I really should try one of the local places and one of those shrimp stands.
