Growing up as a kid in HI we usually had a round/loaf or the rolls in the house so often that I kind of got sick of them lol.
I don't really care to eat it as rolls/slices anymore but Sweetbread/Pao Dulce is great for french toast and in bread pudding.
Now that mom is eating healthier and I only visit every year, Taro rolls seem to have replaced the sweetbread.
If you go to eat at the King's Hawaiian restaurant in Torrance they bring the rolls, heated up, right to your table. And you can eat as many as you want. So good!
My mom gets the large loaf, cuts the top off, guts it and puts the most awesome spinach dip inside it. You then use the pieces of bread to eat the dip. My god is it ever so awesome.

Leftover King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls with some left over Xmas Eve ham make fantabulous little sandwiches while you are waiting for Xmas dinner. I always get extra just rolls for just this purpose.
A friend of mine from high school's dad owns Kings; many fond memories of going to the restaurant in Torrance with him and a bunch of friends and just shoveling the rolls in my mouth before the food arrives
