The Wife and I tried it out this weekend and here are some thoughts.
We ordered 2 sandwiches 1 hot 1 cold.
For the Cold we got the Mikes Original Italian and for the hot we got the chicken parm.
The thing that will hit you first is that a large cost over 10 bucks. 10 bucks for a sandwich!
I guess Quiznos overpriced subs raised the bar for all sandwich shops. To be fair though if people are wlling to pay over 5 bucks for a cup of coffee 10 bucks for a big sandwich doesnt seem that unreasonable.
The Sandwiches were good though with the Cold Italian a bit better then the Chicken Parm. They load them up so you do get what you pay for and it was good but for 10 bucks I probably wouldn't eat there again solely based on that criteria. The ingrediants and the toppings were good and the oil/vinegar they put on is very tasty but once again....its over 10 bucks.
Good sandwiches but not any better then a Kings special at Kings Pizza in HB or any sandwich at Desimones in HB. For Lake Forest they probably are the best but when the local subway(which Im not endorsing BTW) offer 3 footlong subs for 9.99 after 5pm it really keeps things in perspective.
A very good sandwich-just not at that price whereas the Kings special is a great sandwich at a great price.
Go check them out-located on Springdale and Edinger in Huntington Beach.

I totally agree, Hip. I've only been a few times and once it was because my brother was paying. I really like the Philly Cheesesteak but once again, it's expensive! For the price, Sub Contractor is very good and so is Dan's Super Subs off Topanga!

If we're talking price and subs - I recently tried a Vons signature for a first time (I got a warmed up roast beef with horseradish sauce) - and for 5 bucks it was da bomb!

I love Jersey Mike's and not only cause it's named after me (Mike, originally from NJ). If you order it Mike's Style it's prepared just how I would order it at any sub place which is awesome. I'm an oil and vinegar guy all the way.

The Large Italion, Mikes way is awesome, yes pricey, but big enough to be shared by two people. Come to think of it, a large could probably feed my four kids. If you look at it that way, the price isn't too bad. Heads up for anyone looking to order there for a party. My brother bought the food for our SuperBowl party this year and he LOVES that place. They don't have a "party" sandwhich or six footer, but they take the amount of people you have and offer a platter of sandwhiches. We were planning on twenty or so people, so my bro ordeded the platter. Came to $110.00 (OOOUUCH!!!) and was a small platter with 38 "mini" sandwhiches. "Luckily", we had some no shows so there was enough food, but I seriously doubt the platter would have filled up the scheduled crowd. If you order them for a party, best to just pre-order a bunch of large sandwhiches, would probably get more grub for the buck.
