...just throw in a pinch of alder smoked salt for good measure and you have the new Vosges bar:
Some of you may know it already. Looks like it's been out a few months, but just saw it today for the first time and couldn't believe my eyes. DAMN... I had it ripped opened and sampled still standing at the register. Ohhh MAN it is FAAAAN****INGTASTIC. I've always liked Vosges and their whimsically harmonious flavor combinations, but they've outdone themselves with this one. The savory crumbled pieces of real applewood smoked bacon are indeed crispy, and melded with a touch of salt and the creamy sweet deep milk choco it spells instant disaster for those with a weakness for either and a challenged self-discipline. This, people, is a DANGEROUS bar. So please break off one piece for yourself and give the rest to someone you trust to hold for you. Or, if you can.... proceed with caution and restraint and don't say I didn't warn you!
Here's a blurb by the creator:

Bacon Exotic Candy Bar - New
Applewood smoked bacon + Alder smoked salt + deep milk chocolate
Deep milk chocolate coats your mouth and leads to the crunch of smoked bacon pieces. Surprise your mouth with the smoked salt and sweet milk chocolate combination.
Crisp, buttery, compulsively irresistible bacon and milk chocolate combination has long been a favorite of mine. I started playing with this combination at the tender age of six while eating chocolate chip pancakes drenched in maple syrup. Beside my chocolate-laden cakes laid three strips of fried bacon, just barely touching a sweet pool of maple syrup. Just a bite of the bacon was too salty and yearned for the sweet kiss of chocolate syrup. In retrospect, perhaps this was a turning point, for on that plate something magical happened: the beginnings of a combination so ethereal and delicious that it would haunt my thoughts until I found the medium to express it--chocolate.

I'm not in SoCal so can't tell you exactly where, but usually wherever higher-end chocolates and gourmet food stuffs are sold. It's a fairly popular brand these days. Bristol Farms would most likely have it. May want to call around. Good luck... and godspeed!
The Vosges boutiques are in NY, Chicago and Vegas; the Neiman Marcus in LA also carries them. Unless you are visiting one of these cities, the best thing to do is visit their site and order online at www.vosgeschocolate.com.
Mmmm...I love Vosges! AB$ gave me a giant box of it for Valentines Day when I was pregnant and couldn't have champagne or sushi. I received the mailer this week about the new bacon flavor and can't wait to try it...

Wasn't there a Simpson's episode where Homer prays to God for a delicious new snack and then two tanker trucks carrying Bacon and Fudge crash and explode causing fudge dripping bacon to rain down from the heavens?
IN F'N CREDIBLE!!
The bacon is a side note to the dark soft smooth melt-in-your-mouth chocolate...and then you get the salt...it amplifies the dark chocolate to "11"...it's the salt, it's the crunch of the bacon and the lovely, lovely dark but not too dark chocolate that makes this candy bar worth $9.99 (The Cheese Store, Sunset Junction, Silverlake,CA)!!!
BLISSSSSFULLLLLL!!!
They sell Vosges bars in some Whole Foods stores here in So.Cal. I receive their catalog and saw this bar featured on the front page about a month ago. I was intrigued, but have not seen them at the Whole Foods near me. I really want to try one now.
eta: The Bristol Farms nearest to my home carries Vosges bars too.

Niice! Great post, MSM. Right???? Is that not the bestest thing ever? Glad you loved it. 10 bones is a little steep, but **** I'd fork it over in a millisecond to grub that bar.

And why you have not: called in sick; dropped everything; broke in after hours; run; walked; hobbled or crawled to get one? Do what you must, Yvette, and at all costs. I'll be impatiently awaiting your review.

Ooh, very good to know! My BF doesn't carry them, and the OC Whole Foods is a ways away and not on my regular route. I'll have to go out of my way to check this out. Thank you!

Great! Confirm the location of said delight, cancel your appointments, gas up the sled, and off you go! But be forewarned: with that first creamy, chocolately, smokey bacony bite you can kiss life as you've known it goodbye forever. Sound scary? Oh, it is. SCARY GOOD!!! MWAHAHAhahahaha!!!!
