I started a thread awhile back asking about tips for good frozen foods at Trader Joe's. I got some really good feedback...especially the Orange Chicken!!! I've been really busy lately

I've been really busy lately and need to stock up the freezer for some quick bites to eat for dinner. I live by myself, so cooking for one isn't always an option.

What is a favorite of some LGKers in the frozen food section of your local market? Anything ranging from frozen burritos to full entries. I'd like to get some tips on what may be good that I haven't tried in the past.

TJ's frozen pizzas are awesome, made in Italy!

Anything from Marie Callender's (everything I've tried at least).

I 2nd this. They are damn tasty, just beware of heart attacks.

Look for Amy's frozen meals. They are supposed to be awesome. I saw them on Unwrapped and the meals are basically put together by hand, not machine. I believe that they are somewhat healthy as well.

Another option you might look at is the prepared food section of Whole Foods. They have some awesome stuff. Everything from fresh baked pizza in their wood fired ovens to flank steak, twice bakers, and burritos.

I avoid the Hungry Man and Stoufer's crap. It's all junk. The others are right though, the Marie Callendar's is probably the best out of the biggie frozen dinners.

If I need frozen food I'll get it from Trader Joe's. Far better than anything you'll find in your local supermarket. The frozen burritos rule (especially the veggie ones), and the tamales rock, the pizza, orange chicken, etc....

TJ's has frozen quiche that rocks. Micros surprisingly well.

Also I went through a phase with the frozen breaded halibut and jalapeno tarter sauce. Makes up in the oven, though...turns out all crisp and good.

I don't shop at big supermarkets for much anymore....but when I do they are really friendly these days! It's weird.

My freezer is always stuffed with Amy's. My favorites are the pesto tortellini, the santa fe enchilada bowl, the cheese pizza, and the vegetable pot pie. My husband loves the burritos and the pizza bites.
The stuff is a ittle pricier than other frozen stuff but well worth it in terms of health and taste.
