I got roped into going to Hollywood tonight for dinner. We're going to Dolce on Melrose in W.Hollywood.

Anyone been there? What's good? Bad?

Sounds like a realy 'hip' place. EHHH, it's going to be a long night.

Hosting the wife's cousins from New York. I guess they heard that Ashton Kutcher owns the place or something. Yes, I will be drinking many beers.

Good luck there...I tried to make reservations once a few years back and they kind of laughed that I was asking to make reservations a week ahead...they told me try giving them a month next time---F-THAT!!!!!!!!!!!

That's funny because we made reservations about a week ahead of time for 7:00. The place was half empty when we left around 8:30.

Great food though! Pan seered Scallops were fantastic.

The worst part of the night was going to 'The Standard' and waiting for 45 minutes just to get a wrist band to go upstairs to the 'cool/hip' part of the hotel (on the roof). The people who decide whether you get in or not need to get over themselves. Powertrip to the extreme.

That's what I usually do. Would have been more fun to BBQ at home with friends.

Going to Hollywood every 6 months or so reminds me why I hate it so much.

I think when Dolce first opened it was a huge attraction because of the celebs who own it (the That 70s Show boys). Now that some of the lustre is gone it's probably pretty easy to get into.

Il Sole, on the other hand...it's in the weekly mags all the time for celeb sightings so I'm sure it's now a b***h to get into.
