Default Do you cook for your dog?

If so what kind of recipes do you use, i know every dog has differants tastes and nutritional needs but im just trying to get ideas for meals to make for my dog.

I have a 3 year old 15 pound female Shiba Inu and made her a simple chicken breast & rice recipe last week that she loved. Here is the recipe i used Chicken and Rice Dog Food for Busy Pet Parents ~~ Small Dogs Paradise : Holistic Approach to Pampering and Healing Small Dogs

I already pick up my dogs poop... I'll be damned if I'm going to spend any extra time involved with what goes into or comes out of his body.

I do feed the dog a little when I BBQ. I do spend way more money on food and toy for the bird than I should But in the end they are always happy to see me no matter how bitchy I am

With the exception of the occasional carrot or apple, A-FRODOG only eats food meant for dogs.

Kibble and table scraps for our dogs.

Funny though, my g/f's dad would cook for two every night, one meal for himself and the other portion for his German Shorthair...

Cougar eats Instinct Rabbit Meal Formula grain-free nutriition for dogs.

He gets dandruff otherwise.

Last time he got dandruff I gave him a Dr Haushka Neem Hair Oil treatment.

I wash him with Low pH Shea Butter shampoo... human shampoo is too high in the pH department for dogs.

The people at Pussy and Pooch(local pet store) tried to get me to buy him holistic frozen food and/or add water type fancy dog oatmeal food but I felt like that would be going too far.

I did accept the sample of dog cologne, but I like his natural smell best.

Why does your Shiba need a special diet?

Allergies?

My best friend's Bull Terrier did well with roast lamb and sweet potatoes. It's dead easy to make (put it in the oven, watch Rock of Love, take out of oven) and her itchiness subsided with time.

*Cougar NEVER eats from the table or from my plate.

Hubby and I have a Black and a Wheaten Scotty

Once in a while they will get White rice, scrambled eggs, if there is any fat that was cut off from the meat and sometimes a bone from beef ribs

But they mostly get dog food

Our cat, a tortie with a small appetite, prefers Friskies Sea Captain's Choice and Ocean Whitefish/Tuna to nearly anything else. (I took a whiff of some Science Diet, the stuff I used to feed her, and found out why she hates it: It smells like cat feces. ) However, because she has a nasty li'l mouth disorder called stomatitis, she can eat only wet food -- cat kibble is off limits.
