in the last link, the french cite the cause of his death to be a ULM accident... that's un ultra-léger motorisé or ultra/microlight aircraft... it could be anything from a hang glider to a light sport aeroplane.
*edit: after finishing the french article, it says that after the ULM fell 50 meters, it caught fire. not only was dagueneau killed in the accident but another person was also seriously injured. i'm thinking the apparatus was more than just a hang glider.
