The last 2 weeks of the season my fellow STH and I were talking about the best hotdogs and chicken...Since it's was back to back Saturday day games my wife and I decided to try it out. You have to understand, we trek in from the Inland Empire to support our Kings at every game, and finding a new joint to eat at and not the Staples Center is great...So Pinks it was the first Saturday. 2 hours later, I now know why people wait in line, and would gladly do it today, for a "planet hollywood" dog. WOW! I mean we even went looking for the Pinks inside PH in Vegas the following weekend, but there only open on the weekends..The following weekend was Roscoes...I mean can you get anything better than those 2 combinations! They've got to put "crack" in that batter or something, because I'm trying to figure out how I can get to Pasadena for any reason at all. Can anyone please give me any reason at all to go that way....

I've said it once and i'll say it again. Carney's >>> Pinks and its not much further away. Parking is usually reasonable and the wait is minimal. And on top of that, it tastes better.
personally i think pinks is a bit overrated, although i do enjoy a nice ballpark frank every now and then i would say im a big hot dog fan
I'll have to agree that Pinks is over rated. I used to work right by Pinks and
the lines were insanely long. I mean amusement park type lines.
I'm not a connoisseur on hot dogs, but the best hot dog around IMO
is a Dodger Dog.
I forgot to mention...Roscoe's is ****ing great! The syrup that they give you for those waffles is amazing. And some Red Rooster on the chicken is the only way to eat it. Their cheese eggs and biscuits and gravy is awesome too. If you feel like scaring a cardiologist you can get the gravy on top of your fried chicken as well.
I could go on, but i gotta make plans to go this weekend...
edit: I had to share this...

I love Pink's...my dog of choice is the Huell Howser. Two dogs, one bun, chilli cheese, a true delight.
As for Roscoe's....I opt for the Scoe's #2...1/4 Chicken (White Meat) with waffles and the Chicken is covered in their home made gravy.
Is their a better dog in LA than Pinks? Hmmm, I think it probably does win but running a close second is probably Mustard's Chicago Style Dogs in Los Alamitos on katella. Im partial to Chicago style dogs because that is where I cut my teeth as a young man for couple years and I would do Hot Dogs twice a week there....got the mini-gut to prove it!

I've had both and I will say that Mustard's is better than Pinks, not to mention there is much, much less waiting and you get to enjoy the big screen TV's.
