I got a hankering
Grand Central Market in downtown LA. One of the vendors in particular sells chile relleno tacos. Basically, you get one big chile relleno with cilantro/onion and a chile sauce (red or green, your choice) wrapped in about four tortillas. There is enough chile relleno to make four separate tacos, and it's all about $2.

The Crab Stuffed one I had at an El Torito Grill up in Santa Clarita some years back was the best one I ever had.
Birdman is dead on...I go to the El Torito Grill in Torrance and the Chile Relleno is second to none there. I tell my friends this and typically the response is "oh its a chain it cant be that good." I usually agree with that line of thinking but in this instance it is wrong.

This won't help, but Toppers in Santa Monica had a bangin Chile Relleno years ago. The restaurant has since changed styles and I don't think they do that type of food any longer.
