Edit: "The colour of the vodka is changed by adding catechu, a herb found in southern Asia and central and east Africa.. Rich in tannin, catechu has no effect on vodka's flavour. However, many say it makes the vodka a little smoother."
And I just found it for sale at Hi-Time which is down the street from me. $16/bottle. I'll report back.

It's hard to find, and my understanding is they no longer have a distributor in California. I was able to get a few of the airline size bottles at Liquorama in Upland. It really doesn't taste any different than regular vodka in a mixed drink.

no, but after reading that site saying that whatever herb it is doesn't flavor the vodka... i cry FOUL!
K&T's vodka expertise will taste right through that s***.
With the mixers they suggest, the flavor is masked pretty well. By itself or with a more neutral mixer like tonic, I'm sure it would be pretty bad.

I'm still curious. And you know me man, it's all about ambiance at mi fiestas. If this stuff tastes like arse, well, I'll show you where the bottles of ketel will be hidden and everyone else can have the festive drinks!
