Immigration Reform

My almost two year old son speaks English, Chinese (Cantonese with a spattering of Mandarin), a bit of German, and very fluent Spanish. The Spanish he learned from his nanny who emigrated to the US in the 60's with her family. He loves her dearly, and she him. But, I also have a mini-orchard of lime trees in my back yard, and I drink a lot of freshly brewed iced-tea (I love the stuff, but don't get me started). I enjoy a bit of fresh lemon in my fresh iced-tea, so there are always lemons about the house. But here's where the whole immigration thing raises it's ugly head. In Spanish, the word "lime" is pronounced "limon", which sounds a helluva lot like "lemon". So whenever I say, "Go get Daddy a lemon for his tea.", the boy invariably brings me a lime. This is causing communication problems that will no doubt follow my son and I throughout our entire lives, tearing at the very fabric that was once a sweet and harmonious family.
If someone doesn't build a wall at the border real fast, I may never have what I've always felt was my right as a father and as a human being... lemon for my tea.
