I never realized that recognizing your countries missteps and mistakes was unpatriotic. One would hope that an honest desire to make you country better and stronger would qualify someone as a patriot, even if there is disagreement on what path to take to reach that end. Blind jingoism should not be the sole qualification of a patriot.
