From my point of view as a fan of a team not in the "big 4" it's been a subpar year just because it's the same teams again winning things. The premiership is getting more and more boring (and I know the last day was exciting but that was the only day it was) and the gap is getting too big between teams. More and more the big teams are signing everyone in sight to bolster their reserves and make sure no-one can get near them. For those 4 clubs it's great, for everyone else there's a reason why grounds are looking more empty every year.

I know the CL final was a good game far far better than I expected but I got to the end and I was strangely unmoved one way or the other. I love football I've followed it since I was old enough to be dragged to St James' Park 30+ years ago and until the last few years I've excitedly watched CL to see who won. This time I just didn't much care at all and I don't really know why. The FA Cup interested me a lot more.

Drogba was an idiot incidentally. All the Chelsea fans I know tell me that although they like him as a goalscorer as a man and person they can't stand him. It's not the diving that irritates me, Man U have as bad if not worse divers in their team in Ronaldo and Rooney it's all the whining and moaning and snide stuff he does.
