Budget, Yes, I agree. Especially when you can pick up a 50" under 1000. But I've got some news for you as far as the more expensive the better. I've had a Panasonic and a Sony, both above 42 and beloew a 50" and both had issues. The panasonic had 3 issues with turning off, then powering back on. The Sony, which was a first gen type, began to have burn spots after 2 years. It almost looked like Alfred Hitcock on the screen. And keep in mind that these plasmas were not 1K, back then try in the 5K range. So as far as spending alot of money and getting a quality tv. I think it's a crap shoot. But I can say I've had the best expierence with Vizio.
