You know what? Without millions of stupid people like these throughout the history you'd be eating sand this very moment and stone tools would be closest to technology you'd ever be. It took a couple of stupid black guys and a couple of very very stupid white guys to ban slavery and later give voting rights to everyone. If that wasn't stupid from a perspective of superior white race, what was?! Would you say that USA are better today without slavery and with black Americans at least officially being equal? Well, it took lots of stupidity to come there.
By the researches I've read there is only one kind of candidate that will never win the elections - atheist. I don't remember correct numbers but it was something like:
5-7% would never vote for black candidate, 5-7% would never vote for a female candidate and 50%+ would never vote for an atheist in USA.
If Obama is the right guy, he is going to win, regardless of race. If H. Clinton is the right candidate, she is going to win regardless of her being a woman. I realize that rednecks are just rednecks, but things are changing just like they've been changing forever. It takes only one good black president to completely crush this prejudice. Is Obama the guy? I don't know.
You call it stupid. I call them courageous and possibly leading USA to a better future. Not because they'd be so great (I have no idea), but prejudices are never good for a society. Maybe your son will become a president of USA one day, because of Obama winning these elections.
