I live in Reno, the Sharks are on FSN up here, so I watch their games fairly regularly, just to hope the opposing team wins. Let me list a few reasons:
1) Their announcers are almost as bad as the Ducks announcers. They are huge homers, with their worst trait being CONSTANT whining about penalties the opposing team gets away with (in their eyes, of course... 90% of the time, it wasn't even close to a penalty). They also have this annoying habit of calling players by their first names... every time I hear those idiots call Thornton "Big Joe" and Pavelski "Little Joe" I want to choke the s--t out of them. They are the most unprofessional announcers in the NHL after the Ducks homers.
2) They constantly play this commercial where they ask Sharks fans "What is icing?", and of course these clueless morons can't answer. Why am I not surprised Sharks fans don't even know the rules of hockey?
3) I hate Jonathan Cheechoo. I'm not sure why, maybe it's his ridiculous name, or maybe it's the way the announcers fawn over his totally lackluster play.
4) Jeremy Roenick is treated like a god on the Sharks EAT S--T ROENICK, YOU LAZY F--K!
Is my dislike of the Sharks irrational? Maybe. All I know is I LOVE to see them fail after so many expect so much from them. I hope that team is dismantled in the off-season for failing to do anything in the playoffs despite all the hype.
