I think with the whole 80s revival in music where everybody and their mother is ripping 80s sounds in music today, someone or some people wanted to venture into one of the roots of music from that time '79-'83.

I think it was a matter of time someone did a Joy Division doc considering how influential they are/were. If you name any band of alternative rock then ('90s) and now, every single one will say they're influenced by them.

The 'Control' movie probably opened the doors for this documentary maker and/or it was the kickstart that got this doc maker some money backing.

Anyway, JOY DIVISION RULES. My personal #1 always and forever.
