To start with, Avery didn't say anything about Blake and his cancer. Players from BOTH teams stated that plainly, but don't let facts get in the way of your personal thoughts and feelings on the matter.

Secondly, if talking poorly about Avery right now is equivalent to making fun of someone battling cancer, and you all think he's scum (not only) because you want to believe he did so, what can be said about you?

And lastly, the league wouldn't be any better off with out Avery. A skilled player who works his ass off, and in any event played two periods with what should have put him in the hospital earlier than it did and most likely would put most people in an ambulance, isn't exactly what someone with a shred of sense would call "a cancer".
