Talking Flyers/Kings Want To Move Up In Draft

There is going to be some big plays for the picks after LA selects DDoughty second overall. DLombardi wants to add LSchenn. Unfortunately there will other teams with ideas of their own. One team the Philly Flyers see that they have quite a stable of forwards at the NHL, farm and reserve ranks wants to add another young star on defense. Up front the Flyers could offer either JCarter and RJUmberger, both are RFA and Philly may be hard pressed signing these two to lucrative long term deals. Before they do that they may have to assess the SGagne situation since he's having concussion problems. Others like SUpshall could also offered but have had injury woes too. On the farm the Flyers have RPotulny who at one time was a favored prospect. He along with grads CGiroux,ANodl could possibily be offered up too.

The Kings have plethora of prospects, some on the reserve list. They also have MCammalleri who could be an immediate front line scorer for St Louis Blues. The problem with STL would be that they would want a pick in the top ten in return. Enter Nashville...they too are seeking a scorer since DLegwand went into the toilet and JArnott is turning 33 this year. Cammy could go there to Nashville along with the Dallas pick. In turn the Kings get Preds pick by way of Florida. The Kings then knowing that the 9th pick puts them out of the Schenn running ,makes a splash with StL to get the 4th pick. The Kings send the 9th along with a coveted prospect for the 4th pick, STL second rounder this year and a third rounder in'09. There are many scenarios that could come about before or on draft day '08. My wish and hope is that we land two top flight D-men which will go along ways to making this team, the Kings, playoff and Cup contenders down the road. One thing that for sure, for things to happen you have to make it happen and not just stand still waiting...
