Draft Trading Partners With Kings
permalink
There are a tonne of teams that would rather have NHL ready players than possible players...I bet the Kings could entice a number of clubs to hand over their fiirst rounder. The Isles for one are a team that doesn't do particular well on draft day. Of course I've mentioned that Atlanta's draft history has except for several players, been atrocious. They too can be had. At the Number two spot I think the Kings first off have to draft that D-man they covet. Then and only then can they try to move up. First off they might find some competition as the Philly Flyers might also be in the running for top flight almost ready NHL D-men. The Flyers just might have more talent on the front ranks than the LA Kings. We have more from top to bottom but they might have more quality. Other teams that may be a trading partner could be Nashville. They are looking at a numero duo centreman after David Legwand went into the tank. Nashville needs some more scoring and the Kings might be able to accommodate. They may want to keep the 9th pick so the Kings might have to take the 15th with the hopes they can package that with the 22-24 pick to move up with another trading partner, perhaps the MLeafs. The Maple Leafs are in dire need a youth infusion in a hurry. Vancouver Canucks could also be looking to acquire some NHL tested scorers, since BMorrison and MNaslaund will be free Agents and not be back. They have the Sedins but not much else. A MCammalleri could help them considerably. Vancouver has the number 10 pick. Or the Kings take the LSchenn,DDoughty or ZBogosian and hope that some other D-man drops to them at 22-24 pick. There are many scenarios that could unfold but one thing seems certain DLombardi and the Kings want to be front and centre.
