Monarchs Release Darling
Goaltender played in one game with Manchester and stopped all 12 shots

MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have released goaltender Curtis Darling from his professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Darling, 24, played in 32 minutes of the Monarchs game on March 29 and stopped all 12 shots he faced from the Norfolk Admirals. Prior to joining Manchester, Darling appeared in 26 games with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers, collecting a 7-16-3 record, a 3.63 goals-against-average and a .914 save-percentage. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, also played 15 minutes in a game with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch this season and made four saves. Darling started the season with the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) and registered a 3-4-0 record, a 2.93 goals-against-average and a .881 save-percentage in eight games. Following three seasons at the University of Waterloo (2004-07), he played in parts of two games with the ECHL's Reading Royals during the 2006-07 season.

The Monarchs play at the Tsongas Arena for the final time this season as they face-off with the Lowell Devils on Friday, April 2 at 7:05 p.m. Catch all of the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGIR-AM 610 and at Manchester Monarchs.
