Default NHL Entry Draft lottery to be broadcast live on TV April 7 (THN)

TheHockeyNews.com has received exclusive confirmation from Canadian sports TV station TSN that the broadcaster will be bringing live coverage of the 2008 NHL Draft Lottery to its airwaves on Monday, April 7, the day following the conclusion of the regular season.

TSN will be dedicating a half-hour to the draft lottery at 8 p.m. EST as part of its three-hour playoff preview starting at 7 p.m.

The lottery will take place in-studio with NHL deputy-commissioner Bill Daly revealing the results live on-air. They will also be joined by projected No. 1 overall pick Steven Stamkos of the Sarnia Sting live via-satellite.

This is the first time the draft lottery has been aired live on television since the 'Crosby Draft' of 2005 and for only the second time in 13 years.

The lottery will also be simulcast live on the TSN.ca, NHL Network, NHL.com and Versus in the U.S.
