Nashville Report | | So last night i finally got to go and see the Kings live again after almost 6 years.
It was nice to see and meet 2 of what were about 10 total Kings fans in the entire arena last night as well. HockeyChick and KingsFanKat I hope you both had a great time at the game and it was good to meet you both.
Here is a quick rundown of my thoughts.
The Summet Center is a GREAT place to see a game.
The predator fans were all great and really into it. Some of the "chants" they all have in unison during the game are absolutely hilarious and all in good fun. Almost Rocky Horror Picture Show-esque in the responses to the area announcer.
THE KINGS NEED ICE GIRLS
The "hamburgers" we got at the club level grill were atrocious! I still am trying to figure out what in the hell that mystery grey meat was, and my intestines have fully rejected it as well. $12 for a "cheeseburger" basket, which was the previously mentioned burger and some sort of potato chip that more resembled and tasted like very salted greasy styrofoam.
THE KINGS NEED ICE GIRLS
The animated intro to the Preds is AWSOME! Their logo transformed into real life beating the hell out of their division rivals, which included mauling the Red Wings player.
DID I MENTION THAT THE KINGS NEED ICE GIRLS?
All of the Pred fans were very gracious, and knowledgeable. The train whistles that everyone was blowing every time Jordan Tootoo stepped out on the ice got to be a bit annoying though.
The strangest part of it all was being one of only 10 in the whole arena that were clapping or making noise after each of the Kings 4 goals. I had been to MANY Kings at Ducks games back in the day, but there was always so many Kings fans there it never actually seemed like being in the "enemies barn". This was weird to say the least, and it made me miss the roar of 18,000+ of Staples Center when the Kings would score.
I can not wait for next season already when I will be brining my little girls to the game, and yes, they will be wearing the Kings crest proudly.
There was an odd sense of pride wearing the Kings Jersey last night. The sense of pride knowing this organization is headed in the right direction and knowing that although i wore the crest of the last place team in the league, I wore it with pride. Pride because YES, the Kings are MY Team!
Go Kings!!!! |
