Russia is about to start a new superleague and they are paying their players to play there.
Alexi Yashin and Danny Markov got more over there than they could ever swinle out of an NHL franchise, AND they don't have to pay taxes.
Frolov is making a pittance compared to what he could make over there. The Kings aren't going very far in the NEAR future and at the top of his game could double his salary playing for his native land.
It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him jump ship given the financial circumstances.
Something to ask Dean next week.
