Default Royal romp for Oilers (Edmonton Sun)

It won't count in the shootout stats, but this one was straight out of the OK Corral.

Hey, if the Colorado Avalanche can turn the clock back to 2001 by getting Peter Forsberg and Adam Foote, the Oilers figured why not turn it back to 1986, when they used to win run-and-gun games for fun.

It wasn't the kind of game modern day coaches like to draw up on the whiteboard, but it was throwback hockey at its finest. And it was fun to watch.

"It was like '80s night tonight," said head coach Craig MacTavish, after Edmonton outlasted the Los Angeles Kings 5-4.
