The Blues' playoff hopes were dealt a setback Thursday night by the Los Angeles Kings.
The Blues thoroughly outplayed the Kings in the first period but came up empty in a game that went into the second period scoreless. And as often happens, the team that hangs in the game typically returns with a response.
For the Kings, the big response came in the form of four second-period goals in a span of 6 minutes, 40 seconds en route to a 5-1 win. It was the Blues' first regulation loss since Feb. 9.
