Default Blake has become a pawned-off King (LA Daily News)

Los Angeles sports fans - even those who don't know their crease from their five hole - know Rob Blake.

It's one of those athlete names that people seem to recognize, even if they can't quite place it.

Does he play soccer? Golf? Hockey? Yes, a hockey player, that's it. A defenseman for the Kings.

And a fine one, at that. In a few years, they'll hang his No. 4 on the Staples Center wall, put him up there with the Kings' kings:

Marcel Dionne, Wayne Gretzky, Luc Robitaille, Dave Taylor and Rogie Vachon.
