But in reference to the trade, I think both teams get what they want for where they are. Corvo has progressed since he was on the Kings. He is a good depth defenseman and a fringe high end defenseman. He skates well and shoots well, which is something Carolina lacks on their blueline. Plus he fits in their power play scheme. I agree that Eaves was going to get aced out with Vermette there and Foligno looking like he's ready for the NHL.

Ottawa got a good pair of rentals. Commodore 64 is a good beard and hair. Stillman will do wonders playing with Spezza and Heatley, and Alfreddsson will be able to carry the second line.
I think what helps Corvo out (since he left LA) is that he has a solid goalie behind him.

That being said, he is still a liability and should be traded. Again.
