Default KINGS NOTEBOOK (Feb. 8) (LAKINGS)

After the Kings exciting 5-3, come-from-behind victory on Thursday, the team flew to Pittsburgh, holding practice this morning. It was the Kings first win in Detroit since Feb. 18, 2000.
KINGS VS. PENGUINS ALL-TIME
Today’s game will mark the 144th all-time meeting between the Kings and Penguins. Los Angeles is 7-0-2 (1 Tie) in its last nine head-to-head meetings, dating back to Oct. 28, 1999. The Kings are 5-0-2 (2 Ties) in their last seven meetings at Mellon Arena, dating back to Oct. 1, 1997. That’s their longest unbeaten streak vs. the Penguins since the clubs entered the NHL together in 1967-68.

POINTS ADDING UP
The Kings have earned points in nine of their last 12 games (8-3-1). That’s their best 12-game stretch since going 9-2-1 in a 12-game span Dec. 16, 2005 to Jan. 7, 2006. The Kings have also earned points in eight of their last 10 on the road (7-2-1). That’s their best road stretch since going 7-1-2 in a 10 game span Jan. 21 to March 18, 2002.
