He just wasn't consistent enough. I think the main concern was that he could play big sometimes, but just when you think he could be "the guy", he would have a couple bad (or just not-so-good) games, and that's exactly what a #1 guy can't do. I think DL thought he was ok or good enough for the time, but just couldn't see him carrying this team down the line. He had good numbers, but that's because they're averaged over his good and bad games.
I'm glad he seems to have found a good home though. As long as he doesn't EVER knock the Kings out of the playoffs, I wont really mind that he left. |
