AROUND THE RINKS
- Red Wings D Chris Chelios is apparently trying to convince the Wings to add Kings D Rob Blake, who has a no-trade clause and will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer. The Detroit News has San Jose, Colorado, the New York Rangers, Montreal and New Jersey being linked to Blake.
- The Toronto Sun reports that Kings GM Dean Lombardi wants a player, a prospect and a first-round pick for Blake, while noting that the Kings are also shopping LW Ladislav Nagy, D Brad Stuart and D Jaroslav Modry.
