well other then blind loyalty.
I'm not drinking kool-aid and I know they make mistakes (their babies for cripes sakes) but sometimes watching this group of kids, when they are on, just makes me smile and thinking about what is to come.
They have good chemistry, are finding their feet and their consistency. Calder has been a great addition to keep around and now to see Purcell holding his own in his first game... you really couldn't have asked much more the kid.
They will continue to frustrate us and themselves but they are learning and they are getting better. I'm still not sold on Crow-- I do like what he said about making it a goal to become a better player for yourself each game, f* the standings. However, I think the development could be brought alone better. What he said to Garon is a dead give away that he knows he's made mistakes because he's not experienced in building a team.
We have pieces missing, they'll come with the next deadline, drafting and off-season. Same next year (but hopefully not cellar dwelling because I don't think its necessary to be in last place to rebuild) but it will keep getting better and I do think we are on the right track with building rather the right way (not just sucking or being a bubble team for what feels like forever).
And again, to answer the Oiler's announcers-- again, they are young, they don't have the experience, and maybe not the quite the right coaching system to bring the consistency of their A game out of them day in, day out.
Not a reveloutinary post.. but important, I think.
