I agree with this.

If his wife is giving birth very close to the ALL-STAR GAME, then that's fine with me. But to skip the all-star game just to be with her? Not only that, but to miss one regular season game as well?

That's weak stuff. You're a professional athlete, you're paid to do this. If you want to spend time with your wife, do that in the off-season. Do it when she gives birth sometime in April. But not in freaking late January.
